Dr Richard Parker

Dr Richard Parker is a specialist ophthalmologist (MED001668081), sub-specialising in oculoplastic (eyelid, lacrimal and orbital) surgery. He treats a wide range of oculoplastic conditions, including heavy and droopy eyelids (blepharoplasty and ptosis), eyelid malposition, cancers of the eyelids and surface of the eye, facial nerve palsy, blepharospasm, dry eyes, watery eyes (including external and endonasal DCR surgery), and orbital surgery including thyroid eye disease, orbital inflammation, and orbital tumours.

Dr Parker also manages general ophthalmic conditions and performs cataract surgery (including multifocal and extended-depth of focus intraocular lenses) and pterygium surgery. He is involved with multidisciplinary teams for managing patients with complex conditions, particularly cancers around the orbit.

Dr Parker treats private patients at a variety of locations around Sydney and NSW. He treats public patients at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH). He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer for the University of Sydney, coordinating the Ophthalmic Anatomy unit of the Master of Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) program. He examines ophthalmology trainees in the Ophthalmic Basic Clinical Competencies and Knowledge (OBCK) examination for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and is involved in the training of registrars at RNSH.
