Dr Danks is a specialist ophthalmologist with expertise in oculoplastic surgery, including eyelid, tear duct and orbital surgery.
She is a consultant ophthalmologist at Sydney Eye Hospital (past Head of Department, Oculoplastic); Royal North Shore and Northern Beaches Hospitals. Private surgery is mainly performed at Delmar Hospital in Dee Why and Pittwater Day Surgery in Mona Vale.
She graduated in medicine at The University of Melbourne, before training in ophthalmology at Sydney Eye Hospital, followed by fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery at the Western, Bristol and Moorfields Eye Hospitals in the United Kingdom.
Dr Danks was President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (2022-2023), a past NSW Chairperson of the Qualification and Education Committee of RANZCO (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists), and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is also involved in teaching registrars and medical students.
