Dr Carolyn Ross is an experienced comprehensive ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in Cornea and External Eye Disease, Cataract Surgery and Paediatric Ophthalmology. She manages a broad spectrum of corneal diseases including keratoconus and Fuchs’ Endothelial Dystrophy.
Trained at Sydney Eye Hospital, Dr Ross became the Senior Professorial Fellow, gaining extensive experience in complex paediatric ophthalmology and corneal surgery. She subsequently undertook the prestigious Corneal Fellow at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, a world-leading site of corneal graft surgery and research.
Carolyn is a Senior Consultant at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and leads the Corneal Unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She also operates at Sydney Private Hospital and Chatswood Private Hospital. Dr Ross provides outreach services at Griffith Base Hospital and offers subspeciality expertise to Alice Springs Hospital and remote indigenous communities.
Committed to global eye health Dr Ross is also involved in overseas aid projects and has worked as a volunteer surgeon and educator in Papua New Guinea, Cambodia and Loas.

Dr Ross trained at Sydney Eye Hospital and gained particular experience in complicated Paediatric Ophthalmology in her final year in the Professorial Unit. Subsequently Dr Ross completed a Fellowship in Cataract, Cornea and External Eye Disease at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide.
Dr Ross is a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney Private and St George Private Hospitals and is Head of the Corneal Unit at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Dr Carolyn Ross is actively involved in teaching colleagues, trainee ophthalmologists, general practitioners and University of Sydney medical students. Dr Ross is also involved in collaborative clinical research projects and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Corneal Society and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists Paediatric Special Interest Group.
