A/Professor Painter is one of the founders of Gordon Eye Surgery and a current partner of the practice.
He had his ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, followed by a fellowship in cataract and glaucoma surgery at Addenbrookâs Hospital, Cambridge UK.
His special interests include cataract and anterior segment surgery and glaucoma, while clinical research interests are focused on future developments in cataract surgery.
He has a significant commitment to international ophthalmology as a board member of Foresight Australia and a number of International development committees. He is involved in outreach programs in the Solomon Islands and China.
